Joe Manganiello may be going on a ‘Rampage’.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 40-year-old actor has been approached for a role in Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming video game adaptation… and he’s not alone.
“Joe Manganiello, one of the stars of True Blood and Magic Mike, and Marley Shelton are in negotiations to join Dwayne Johnson in Rampage, New Line’s adventure project based on the 1980s video game.”
Manganiello is perhaps best known for the role of werewolf Alcide Herveaux in HBO’s vampire drama, ‘True Blood’ and is set to appear as DC villain and antihero Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman solo movie. Marley Shelton famously starred alongside Hayden Panettiere in the horror sequel ‘Scream 4’.
But who are they playing in ‘Rampage’?
“Manganiello will portray the leader of a private military group; Shelton will play a scientist and astronaut.”
“[Dwayne] Johnson will play an animal-loving hero who is the world’s only hope, while Naomie Harris, the Oscar-nominated Moonlight actress, is on board as a geneticist with a moral streak.”
‘Rampage’ is based on the 1980s video game, which featured a trio of colossal monsters – a gorilla, a crocodile and a wolf – who attacking various North American cities and landmarks.

Brad Peyton will direct, based on a script by Ryan Engle, Carlton Cuse, Ryan Condal, and Adam Sztykiel.
‘Rampage’ heads to cinemas on 20 April 2018.
