Stop browsing for summer sandals for just a second, because we’ve found a pair of super-cosy, super-fluffy sheepskin slippers and we’re certain they’ll sell out fast.

We know summer wardrobe items will be at the forefront of many shoppers’ minds at the moment, but sometimes you just have to get a head start on prepping for next season when a must-have cosy essential comes along.

The John Lewis & Partners Sheepskin Mule Slippers are cosy and super-fluffy – in fact, they look remarkably like a pair from cult brand UGG – but they’ll only set you back £49.

The sheepskin fabric works to keep you warm and toasty in cooler weather and the flat rubber sole makes the snug slip-ons easy to wear around the house, up-and-down stairs and even outside (hey, no judgement here).

The slippers – available in sizes 3 through to 8 – come in three sumptuous colourways: mink, chocolate and metallic, each of which lend themselves to a timeless, muted look.

It seems we aren’t the only ones looking to invest in our feet, as the slippers are proving to be pretty popular on the department store’s website too.

In fact, according to John Lewis, the product is already a bestseller, with lots of people lusting after the slippers in the last 48 hours.

Which makes sense when you think about it, given that a large percentage of the UK workforce are still working from home. Meaning that, though many of us might dress for the office, we’re certainly not fishing out our hard-soled shoes just to sit in our living room.

Our advice? Squirrel them away for a rainy day – you’ll be glad you did.
