Margera, who has been in and out of rehab over the years, claimed that he had been fired for breaching his contract in February. He alleged that the movie studio, Paramount, forced him to take antidepressants (per New York Post) and also called for fans to boycott the movie.
Earlier this week, TMZ reported that director Jeff Tremaine has filed a restraining order against him.
Digital Spy has reached out to Paramount for comment.
Speaking to GQ, Knoxville addressed Margera's departure, stating: "We want Bam to be happy and healthy and get the help he needs.
"We tried to push that along. I think that’s all I really want to say about it. I don’t want to get into a public back-and-forth with Bam. I just want him to get better."
The same publication also spoke to Margera, who reiterated that he had been fired, and stated: "It hurts my heart, because I've waited 10 years for this."
Jackass 4, due for release on October 22 this year, will star Knoxville, Steve-O, Dave England and many other cast members.
