Jon M. Chu Directing Now You See Me 3

‘Now You See Me 3’ is already on the cards… with director Jon M. Chu.

According to Variety, ‘Now You See Me 3’ is moving forward with Jon M. Chu at the helm.

“Jon M. Chu is returning to the director’s chair for Lionsgate’s ‘Now You See Me 3’,” they revealed. “The studio struck a deal with Chu nearly two months before it releases his ‘Now You See Me 2’ on June 10 — a signal that it believes the sequel will perform in the same range as the 2013 original, which took in $351.7 million worldwide.”

Of course, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheime announced the third ‘Now You See Me’ movie over a year ago… but no further details were revealed until now.

The original ‘Now You See Me’ follows the story of The Four Horsemen – a group of four magicians (played by Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco) who come together to pull off the perfect heist. And the upcoming sequel sees The Four Horsemen return… albeit with a slightly different cast.

“[Lionsgate CEO] Feltheimer said at the time that Lionsgate believed that ‘Now You See Me 2’ would top the gross for the original comedy caper in 2013.”

But can a third movie do just as well?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but fans of the magical caper series will be thrilled.

‘Now You See Me 2’ stars Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman and Michael Caine alongside newcomers Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Radcliffe.

‘Now You See Me 2’ heads to cinemas on 4 July 2016.
