Jon Voight Rants About Barack Obama On US TV
Actor Jon Voight has unleashed an extended rant aimed at President Barack Obama, accusing him of ‘taking the country apart’.
The long-time Republican, and father of Angelina Jolie, appeared on former Presidential candidate and current Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee’s political talk show on Fox News.
Then reading from a script, he looked into the camera to deliver his attack.
“Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart,” he said.

“Piece by piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country. In hindsight, we can see how many things have come to pass.
“My greatest heartache is that we sacrificed thousands of American heroes liberating Iraq, only for President Obama to pull out all troops, leaving Iraq now to be taken over by the terrorists. What does he say about that? Nothing.”
He also criticised Obama’s actions over Ukraine, the current unrest in Israel and Gaza, immigration, and his treatment of war veterans.
“The Democrat Party has become a very negative force,” he added. “It’s more socialistic in their thinking and they’ve given young women the wrong idea about what democracy really is.”

The ‘Midnight Cowboy’ star also accused Obama of ‘whittling down our military strength, the strength all the world has relied on, and in doing so has paved the way for the most radical elements across the world to thrive’.
He then took on Democratic National Committee chair, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz over her views on abortion, calling her ‘the gang leader for all the wrong information to our young women, convincing them that Republicans are stopping their liberties and freedoms of reproduction when the truth is, as the Supreme Court upheld, that religious freedoms are being infringed upon’.
Voight has long been an opponent of the Republicans and the Obama administration, and has sounded off against it before, comparing it to a ‘dictatorship’ in an interview with US Weekly 2012.
His daughter Jolie, from whom he was estranged for many years, is not necessarily a big fan of Obama either.
She told interviewers following his re-election that while he had done some ‘wonderful’ things during his first term, she was also ‘disappointed and frustrated’ with him.
