Julianne Hough breaks internet with exorcism-like video: 'This was disturbing to watch'

By now, we're all accustomed to the eccentric wellness trends of the Hollywood elite. From Gwyneth Paltrow's bee-sting therapy to Sandra Bullock's "penis facials" and Shailene Woodley's vaginal sunbathing routine, we've become unphased by the extreme measures A-listers go to for their beauty and health fixes.

And until this week, we thought we had seen it all.

However, a new video of Julianne Hough receiving an energy treatment in Davos, Switzerland, this week has proved us wrong.

Dr. Amaral demonstrated his treatment on the "Dancing With The Stars" pro, who could be seen contorting and yelping in a video captured by onlookers.

“There’s always a huge dissipation of energy and the feeling of relief, release, freedom," Amaral says to the crowd. "Expression of emotion may happen when the system moves.”

He continued, as Hough twitches in the background:

"When energy was stored and bound up in the muscles, it gets to dissipate, and if we’re really free to express and allow energy that’s been bound in our bodies to move through — this woman is like, an incredible dancer, actress, just, human being, and she has practiced just allowing things to move through.”

Hough's writhing response to Amaral's treatment has sent shockwaves through social media, with some users even comparing her body's response to an exorcism.

"This is demonic. The demon is trapped in her little body. In the name of Jesus I rebuke this woman. Bye. Take it Jesus," wrote one commentator.

"What did I just watch?" wrote one Instagram user, while a viewer added, "This was disturbing to watch."

Another viewer wrote: "I don’t know whether this is absolutely hilarious or absolutely terrifying. My mind is still processing what I just witnessed. This can’t be real. She is officially cult status."

Hough herself commented on the original video, shared by Jackie Schimmel Haas, saying: "I thought the same thing when I first saw it too!"
