Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon Reunite on ‘SNL’ During Dakota Johnson’s Monologue

This week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” saw Dakota Johnson stopping by Studio 8H to promote her role in the upcoming “Spider-Man” spin-off “Madame Web.” It was only her second time hosting the beloved sketch comedy series, but she quickly found herself flanked by some “SNL” royalty during her opening monologue.

The episode’s musical guest was none other than Justin Timberlake, a member of the Five Timer’s Club whose many hosting gigs have spawned some of the most beloved sketches of the show’s modern era. As Johnson began her monologue, Timberlake invited himself on stage and was quick to offer his services as a host.

“If you want me to be in sketches — I have hosted before,” Timberlake said, holding up his hand to signify his five prior hosting appearances. “First he was bringing sexy back, and now he’s bringing coming back.”

Timberlake jokingly admitted that his braggadocios quip didn’t land exactly how he envisioned it, saying “Now that I’ve heard that out loud…” and shaking his head to massive laughter from the crowd.

Timberlake was soon joined by his longtime comedic foil Jimmy Fallon, who has long been known for appearing alongside Timberlake in sketches like “The Barry Gibb Talk Show” and the ongoing “Bring It On Down To…” busking parody series. Fallon took the stage dressed in his Barry Gibb costume, complete with a tan leisure suit and a ridiculous Bee Gees-era haircut.

“I’m just here to say break a leg,” Fallon joked as he was warmly embraced by the studio audience.

The Fallon-Timberlake reunion continued in a new “Barry Gibb Talk Show” segment, which saw them don their Australian disco personas for a spirited discussion of the dysfunctional state of American politics and the looming presidential election.
