The Flight Attendant's second season is underway after proving a big hit with its limited run.

A few changes are set to happen behind the scenes, though, with Queen Of The South's executive producer Natalie Chaidez joining the show as co-showrunner alongside Steve Yockey.

Season one's co-showrunners Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin are departing.

The show will also now be filmed in California after receiving a significant tax credit, while the first series was filmed in New York.

The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco, who is also an executive producer, will be back as flight attendant Cassie Bowden.

After sleeping with a passenger following a heavy night, she wakes up next to his dead body and gets caught up in an espionage plot.

Cassie is also dealing with numerous demons, including her reliance on alcohol and the death of her father.

The second season will focus on Cassie's new adventure as well as the CIA being interested in her.

"We haven’t written anything yet, we just started our writers' room, but I think the journey for her emotionally is that she is going to try and have a sober journey," Cuoco previously said to Deadline.

"Because she is so impatient, and her personality is so black-and-white, she's going to go into this thinking it's easy; a quick fix and that she's fixed her demons.

"I think she's going to learn very quickly that this is a life-long struggle and she's going to be way over her head."

Cuoco recently admitted to crying herself to sleep while the show was being made as she was worried about the pressure.

"Coming off such a successful show, I knew people were going to judge this and question my decision," she told Radio Times.

"It wouldn't have mattered what choice I had made, it was going to be – not looked down upon, but questioned.

"But I went through a lot of ups and [downs] – there were days where I'm like, 'Oh man, people are gonna love this' and then there were days where I would literally cry myself to sleep, wishing I had never ever found the book."

The Flight Attendant airs on HBO Max in the US. UK viewers can catch it on Sky One and NOW.
