News broke on Tuesday afternoon that Harris held a call with her team in Iowa informing them that she was bringing her 2020 campaign to a halt amid financial struggles, with one staffer telling HuffPost that those on the call were shocked by her announcement.
The outlet reports that Harris plans to travel to Baltimore and New York City to share the news with her staff there.
Harris and Emhoff, who is a partner at DLA Piper Law Firm, reportedly met on a blind date and got engaged in March 2014. They got married in a private courthouse wedding in Santa Barbara about four months later. The 54-year-old lawyer shares two children with ex-wife, Kerstin: Son, Cole, and daughter, Ella.
