Gillan, who shot to fame as Amy Pond on Doctor Who, recently spoke about the prospect of another film in the Jumanji series, with the star revealing she would be open to reprising her role as Ruby Roundhouse.

“I don’t know,” she began. “I’m sure it’s tricky to wrangle everyone’s schedules, but I haven’t heard anything about it other than the fact that we will be doing it at some point. So we’re all so enthusiastic about it. We all love working on those films, and it’s just a matter of when.”

The star is also known for her role as Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and recently offered her thoughts on the twist in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, which saw Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord hand over the reins of the team as he opted for a life on Earth.

Despite the character seemingly putting his superhero ways to one side, a post-credits message teased that the “The legendary Star-Lord will return”, a hint that left Gillan surprised.

“I don't remember seeing that in the script,” she recalled. “So either I have a bad memory or it wasn't in there. So it was pretty surprising, but it was cool as well. I was like, 'Okay, what's the plan here?’”
