Kate Bosworth joins Homefront film

Kate Bosworth is set to play a meth addict in an upcoming movie.

The Blue Crush star is joining Jason Statham and James Franco in Homefront, according to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog.

The film, which Sylvester Stallone has adapted from a book by Chuck Logan, follows a former Drug Enforcement Agent, played by Jason, who wants to retire to a small town and live the quiet life. But his plans are scuppered by a villainous drug dealer played by James.

Kate, 29, who recently revealed that she is engaged to director Michael Polish, will play the drug addicted sister of James' character.

It has previously been reported that Winona Ryder is in talks to join the movie, and Raising Hope's Izabela Vidovic has signed up to play the daughter of Jason's character.

Runaway Jury's Gary Fleder is directing and Sly is producing.

Filming is due to start in New Orleans next month.
