Kate Ferdinand says she's 'overwhelmed' by life with a newborn

New mum Kate Ferdinand has opened up on her early days of parenting, admitting that she has found some moments “overwhelming”.

The former Towie star, 29, gave birth to baby Cree in December and ran an Instagram Q and A where she let fans ask her about how she was coping with the new arrival.

As one person asked her how she was feeling, she responded honestly that there had been ups and downs since her son was born.

She replied: "I am slowly feeling better each day, it's a gradual recovery and I'm taking it really easy but it's good to be seeing little improvements daily.

"I've always been super emotional. Whatever I'm feeling everyone always knows. I like to wear my heart on my sleeve.

"Since giving birth my emotions are still all over the place, I cry often... I feel so happy with our beautiful new addition but often have moments of feeling overwhelmed.

"I don't know whether I'm coming or going most days."

Cree arrived by emergency C-section and Ferdinand has previously shared photos with fans showing the huge bruises she was left with after the birth.

She thanked fans for their support over the raw pictures of her post-birth body, writing: "I was overwhelmed by all of your comments on my recent picture. Sometimes social media can be such a negative place but since sharing this post it has been so positive for me. I was nervous about sharing my reality but so glad I did.

"So many of you have had similar experiences and share the same feelings and emotions. It is nice to know we are not alone."

Ferdinand is also stepmum to Rio’s three children from his marriage to first wife Rebecca, who died in 2015.
