Today in things that don't really happen that much in London, Kate Middleton was filmed driving out in public to Buckingham Palace. A fan shared footage of the Duchess of Cambridge driving into the gate, where Kate waved to people watching her. It's the second slide of the fan's post:

The royals do appear to commonly drive themselves to events, especially for Buckingham Palace ones. Prince William and Prince Harry were both recently photographed driving their wives to Prince Charles's 70th birthday reception that the Queen threw, for example. Kate's visit to Buckingham Palace comes one day after she was announced patron of Evelina London Children's Hospital ahead of her and William's Tuesday visit to it and The Passage, a homeless resource center.

At the event, Kate wore a green polka-dot LK Bennett dress. At this point, no additional events have been announced for Kate ahead of the Christmas holiday, but she is likely to at least attend some private ones. The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are expected to spend Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham, so they'll join the family for Christmas morning service in Norfolk.

Kate has done several Christmas events this month, including two events this week where she participated in Christmas activities at both Evelina London Children's Hospital and the Passage. She and Prince William started December by throwing a Christmas party for RAF families at Kensington Palace. There, she wore a green and red tartan Emilia Wickstead skirt, a nice festive piece for the season.
