Kate Middleton was spotted taking Prince George and Princess Charlotte out shopping after Prince Philip's funeral last weekend.

After what has undoubtedly been a hard week for the royal family, the Duchess of Cambridge clearly thought a dose of normality was what was needed for her two eldest children, who — despite not personally attending the funeral themselves — will have obviously been affected by the passing of their great-grandfather.

The trio visited Smiggle, a kids stationery, toys and games store on Kings Road in Chelsea on Monday (19th) afternoon and were spotted by shop workers who excitedly shared news of the royal visit on social media.

A Twitter user known as Alexa, revealed that, although she herself wasn't working at Smiggles that day, her colleagues were pleasantly surprised to welcome the young family into the store.

'I’ve always been a Kate Middleton fan... today she was in one of my stores on the Kings Road with George and Charlotte,' Alexa posted on Twitter. 'What the team told me about how she was with them and how the kids were with each other makes me like her even more!'

Explaining that 39-year-old Kate talked to her team and handed George and Charlotte pocket money to purchase their own goods.

'I wasn’t there but she talked to my team, the kids had a budget that they stuck to and paid for their own things with their own money,' she continued. 'Just normal well brought up children and a normal parent trying to do the right thing and that’s just lovely!'

This isn't the first time Kate has been seen out shopping in public with her children, after being spotted in Sainsbury's with George, 7, Charlotte, 5 and Louis, 2 in King's Lynn, Norfolk — near the family home of Anmer Hall — just before lockdown last year.

This most recent shopping trip in London occurred just one day before George and Charlotte returned to their classes at St Thomas's Battersea yesterday (20th April).
