Ke Huy Quan addresses potential Indiana Jones 5 cameo
Ke Huy Quan has made a coy response to theories he may appear in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
The newly-minted Oscar winner had his career breakthrough as Indiana Jones's 12-year-old sidekick Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and recently reunited with Harrison Ford during last year's D23 Expo.
In a recent chat with Entertainment Tonight, the actor had disappointing news on whether Indiana Jones fans may see Short Round in this summer's blockbuster.
"I want to say [yes], but no," Quan teased. "Here's the thing. I don't want to disappoint the fans. I've joked about it all the time, but reuniting with Harrison after 38 years, that was very special."
The actor recently got to share a special moment with Ford when the legendary Indiana Jones actor presented Everything Everywhere All at Once with the Best Picture Oscar.
"Of all the years, to have him present the Best Picture Award, at this year's Academy Awards, that was something. That will always be one of the most memorable nights of my life," he said.
"And I can't wait to see him don the fedora again, and crack that that whip one more time. I will be first in line to watch it."
The actor had previously opened up about how Ford instantly made him feel "comfortable" when they were reunited at D23 after decades without seeing each other.
"It was amazing, and he's an amazing man – one of the most generous men on the planet," he recalled.
While it's not clear whether or not Short Round appears in the fifth Indiana Jones film, John Rhys-Davies will reprise his iconic role as the adventure's pal Sallah. Phoebe Waller-Bridge also appears as Indy's goddaughter Helena Shaw.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is scheduled for release on June 30, 2023.
