Kenneth Choi To Play Judge Ito In ‘The People V. O.J. Simpson’

FX’s American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson has cast another key player in the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Allegiance co-star Kenneth Choi will play Judge Lance Ito as a regular in the miniseries, which takes a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers that explores the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court, and how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness, and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

Ito made judicial and television history with his controversial decision to allow cameras in the courtroom for the OJ Simpson murder trial, turning the proceedings into a TV spectacle.

Choi joins Courtney B. Vance who plays Johnnie Cochran, John Travolta, who plays Simpson’s co-counsel Robert Shapiro; David Schwimmer, who plays another Simpson attorney, his confidant Robert Kardashian, Cuba Gooding Jr, who portrays Simpson; Connie Britton who plays Faye Resnick; Sarah Paulson (Marcia Clark); and Sterling K. Brown (Christopher Darden).

American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson is written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. Ryan Murphy is executive producing with fellow American Horror Story co-creator Brad Falchuk, Nina Jacobson & Brad Simpson, Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.

The project reunites Choi with FX where he had a long stint on Sons of Anarchy. He is repped by Atlas Artists and TalentWorks.
