Kevin Bacon Wants To Play Freddy Krueger In A Nightmare On Elm Street Reboot

Sometimes a casting rumour is just so right that everyone in Hollywood should really stop what they are doing immediately and make it happen. Kevin Bacon as Freddy Krueger is one such rumour.

And it turns out that the actor knows that just as well as the rest of us, because Kevin Bacon has taken to Twitter to express his interest in portraying the legendary ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ villain.

We actually have @bettietoxic to thanks for sparking this speculation. Because on Friday night she took to Twitter to write, “If A ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ gets rebooted again can we please somehow get Kevin Bacon as Freddy? I think he’d be fantastic.”

After throwing that ingenious thought out into the online ether, Bettie probably didn’t expect to hear anything back.

Little did she know she would soon be just one degree of separation from Kevin Bacon, as he responded with, “I like the way you think Bettie.”

As you’d expect Bettie Toxic was rather startled by Kevin Bacon’s response, and she had the perfect online riposte, too:

Now all we need is for Hollywood to get to work so that this dream can become a reality.

Not only did Vin Diesel previously use Twitter to build up support that ultimately led to him being cast as Groot in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’, but Bacon has proven himself in the horror genre thanks to his work in ‘Tremor’, ‘Flatliners’, ‘Stir Of Echoes’, and ‘Hollow Man’, while he also appeared in the original ‘Friday The 13th’, too.

Plus, since the 2010 attempted reboot of ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ fell flat, the addition of Kevin Bacon as Krueger could be the exact jolt in the arm that the franchise needs.
