Kevin Hart drops first look at the Jumanji sequel set

Work began in the ‘Jumanji’ sequel yesterday, with star Kevin Hart dropping a tropical snap from the first day of filming.

Hart is looking even more diminutive than usual next to co-star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and joined by Brit star Karen Gillan and Jack Black.

‘Dope as hell’ was Hart’s summary of the first day, the movie being helmed by Jake Kasdan, son of ‘Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ writing legend Lawrence Kasdan.

Earlier this month Johnson posted a shot of himself in character as the ‘smouldering’ Dr. Bravestone for the movie, though there was some initial fan resistance to the movie, with many concerned that it would be an inferior remake of the Robin Williams original.

However, now confirmed as a sequel, the trepidation is somewhat less pronounced.

“I’ll reunite with ol’ friends Kevin Hart & Jack Black and we have the honor to introduce a whole new generation to the amazing world of #JUMANJI,” The Rock wrote on his Instagram page in August.

“For the record we are NOT making a reboot, but rather a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story). It’s also crazy to me how much me, Kev and Jack look like triplets when we’re together.”

The movie is due on screens in July, 2017.
