True Thompson may only be 2 months old, but she’s already got her ears pierced — and some folks are making a fuss.

Khloé Kardashian posted footage of her birthday celebrations on June 27, as the new mom marked turning 34 with her famous family, friends, and her infant daughter. In one video shared on Instagram Stories, the reality star cuddles up to daughter True, whose father is NBA star Tristan Thompson. Look closely, and you’ll see sparkly studs in the baby’s ears.

While True is far from the first infant to sport earrings, the baby bling has kicked off some criticism from those who say she’s too young to have pierced ears. Others suggested that it was a superficial move on Kardashian’s part.
Of course @khloekardashian pierced True’s ears that whole entire family only care about how they look! I mean I’m surprised none of them have put make up on their babies yet 🙄

The piercings appear to be new, as they aren’t visible in a photo Kardashian posted of her baby on June 13.
Many jewelry stores, and even some tattoo shops, do not have age restrictions for ear piercing, provided a parent or guardian is present. But some people disapprove of subjecting infants to the painful procedure — and Kardashian isn’t the only one in her family to take heat for doing so.
In 2014, big sister Kim Kardashian also got backlash when daughter North West was seen wearing earrings before her first birthday.
