Kick Ass 2: Epic first trailer

If you think things got messy in the first 'Kick-Ass', then get a load of 'Kick-Ass 2'...

The first trailer has now dropped from the upcoming sequel, and it's pulling no punches whatsoever.

It also seems that Jim Carrey's comments about his character Colonel Stars & Stripes being unlike anything he's done before might be spot-on.

Almost recognisable, and playing former mob enforcer turned vigilante Sal Bertolinni, Carrey could just steal the show, if this first taster is anything to go by.

Elsewhere, Christopher Mintz-Plasse - who appears to have embraced S&M as his alter-ego The Motherf***ker - is assembling an evil army of masked fighters to help him avenge the death of his father at the hands of Kick-Ass in the first film.

Also joining the cast is John Leguizamo, Donald Faison and Russian bodybuilder Olga Kurkulina as Mother Russia.

'Kick Ass 2', directed by Jeff Wadlow, is out the UK 19 July.
