Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn has teased that prequel film The King's Man will sow "seeds" for Kingsman 3.
The new film — which is set in the early 1900s and stars Ralph Fiennes, Harris Dickinson, Gemma Arterton, Matthew Goode and Aaron Taylor-Johnson — was supposed to hit cinemas in February but had its release date pushed back at the end of last year.
The film is now due to hit cinema screens on September 18 and, speaking recently, franchise director Vaughn confirmed the anticipated film will link to the next Kingsman film by planting the "seeds" for Kingsman 3.

"We've put seeds for what's going to happen in Kingsman 3 all the way back into this," he told Empire.
"And it's going to be very different."
In the same interview, Vaughn also revealed he may have reconsidered his initial plans to stand down from the franchise and recruit a new director for Kingsman 3 — instead remaining on board himself.
"I actually don't know what I want to do," he added. "There is an opportunity for a director to really change it up, but I'm considering it."

The King's Man is set to explore the origins of the Kingsman organisation, with the official synopsis teasing that it will follow one man and his protégé in a race against time to stop history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds as they plot a war that would wipe out millions.
The film will also star Rhys Ifans, Charles Dance, Stanley Tucci, Daniel Bruhl, Tom Hollander, Robert Aramayo and Djimon Hounsou.
The King's Man will be released in cinemas on September 18, 2020.
