Kitty Scott-Claus and Bobby Davro to take part in Celebrity Mastermind
Kitty Scott-Claus, Bobby Davro, Shaparak Khorsandi and Matt Richardson are to take part in ‘Celebrity Mastermind’.
They will join ‘Most Haunted’ presenter Yvette Fielding, ‘The Apprentice’ winner Harpreet Kaur, comedian Suzi Ruffell and several other stars taking their turn in the famous black chair, where they will answer questions on topics as varied as Concorde, Morecambe and Wise, and ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ on the star-studded edition of the BBC One quiz show.
The first episode of the season - which kicks off on Saturday (04.02.23) at 5.35pm - will feature comedy legend Bobby, TV cook Suzie Lee, ex Olympic skier Graham Bell and BBC Radio 1 host Remi Burgz taking on their specialist subjects of Gilbert O'Sullivan, Bridget Jones, Stevie Ray Vaughan and salmon.
The show’s host Clive Myrie said: “Our fantastic celebrity line-ups are always a brave bunch. All in the name of charity, they willingly step out of their comfort zones in order to face the icy embrace of the famous black chair. Will they crack under the pressure? Viewers will have to tune in to find out.”
Jimmy Mulville, the managing director at Hat Trick Productions, said: “Given how popular ‘Celebrity Mastermind’ is proving with audiences it’s clear that watching them squirm answering difficult questions in a leather chair is providing a real public service in these difficult times!”
Clive - who took over from John Humphries as the show’s presenter in 2021 - knows the responsibility of his gig.
Last year, he said: “'Mastermind' is the pinnacle of quizzing, in my humble opinion, and pulls in two million viewers or more.
"The people who go on the show are people in little leagues who do it in the pub every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night.
"They train for it in the way an athlete would for an important event. Some contestants have been waiting for this moment for years."
