The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal lands horror movie role
The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal has landed his next big film role.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the in-demand actor will appear in Weapons, which comes from the minds behind Barbarian.
Plot details and information on Pascal's role are being kept under wraps for now, though it's said that Weapons will be "an interrelated, multistory horror epic" a bit like the 1999 movie Magnolia.
Pascal doesn't appear to have commented publicly about the upcoming project — but appearing in a horror movie will mark a bit of a change from his more recent roles.

Before capturing everyone's attention as Joel in HBO's The Last of Us adaptation, Pascal appeared in hits like Game of Thrones, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Narcos and Wonder Woman 1984. He also leads The Mandalorian on Disney+, playing the Star Wars series' titular character.
It's thought that Weapons will start production this autumn, adding to an already busy year for the actor.
News broke earlier this month that Pascal will appear in Gladiator 2 — and he's joining some huge names. Connie Nielsen is reported to return and will be starring alongside Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Barry Keoghan and Joseph Quinn.
As if that wasn't enough, Pascal is also confirmed for a role alongside Matt Damon in the comedy movie Drive-Away Dolls.

While Pascal has quite a few things in the pipeline, he admitted to Esquire last month that he doesn't know what's next for him.
"What's next? I have no f***king idea," he told the outlet. "I just hope that I have the maturity to not chase something that would mean more from the outside."
The Last of Us is available on HBO in the US. In the UK, The Last of Us is available on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW with an Entertainment Membership for just £9.99.
