Latest Fast & Furious 8 Set Video Reveals Epic Action In Iceland

We’ve got yet another sneak peek at the in-production ‘Fast & Furious 8′ - and would you believe, there are fast cars involved?

The latest installment in Universal’s fuel-injected franchise has been keeping fans keen on social media with their weekly ‘Fast Fridays,’ revealing a new snippet from the movie each week.

This week, we’ve got a look at what the production has been up to in another new location, Iceland.

Interestingly, we get no glimpse of the franchise’s biggest stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson or Michelle Rodriguez here, with Tyrese Gibson taking centre stage for a change.

Watch it below.

Fast car action on snow is a new one for the series, and it certainly looks like an epic action sequence, on a comparable scale to that of ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’

Of course, ‘Fury Road’ comparisons are inevitable on ‘Fast & Furious 8,’ as they’ve cast Charlize Theron (who won widespread acclaim last year for her performance in George Miller’s movie) as the new villain, Cipher.

Quite what Cipher’s evil scheme is, we don’t know - but judging by how many bad guys on snowmobiles we’ve got in this video, she seems like a serious, not to mention well-funded adversary.

This officially sanctioned video comes not long after amateur footage was released of the production from Cleveland, Ohio (presumably second unit work, or scenes being shot concurrently there), showing cars dropping off the side of buildings.

It seems safe to say ‘Fast & Furious 8′ isn’t going to be much more grounded than its predecessors.

The sequel opens 14 April 2017.
