LEGO Reveals Official Doctor Who Set Just In Time For Christmas

Vworp vworp! LEGO has finally revealed its official ‘Doctor Who’ set which arrives in shops on 1 December, and it’s already on the top of our Christmas wish list.

Featuring the TARDIS interior and exterior, two incarnations of the Doctor, a Clara Oswald Minifig, a Weeping Angel, two Daleks, and a tiny Sonic Screwdriver, the set will retail for £49.99.

The set was originally designed by fan creator Andrew Clark who submitted his design based on the BBC’s hit sci-fi show to LEGO Ideas, the official crowdsourcing community of the Danish toy makers, where it received overwhelming public support and was selected to become part of the LEGO Group’s product portfolio.

The TARDIS interior - much bigger than the exterior, of course - is detachable from the exterior and includes steps, detailed controls, and the time machine’s iconic hexagonal console.

The Doctor Minifigs are based on Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi’s incarnations of the time lord, and Clara’s is of course based on the likeness of Jenna Coleman who will be leaving the show sometime during the current series.
