Leonardo DiCaprio Had A Brief Cameo In Room Alongside Fellow Oscar Winner Brie Larson

On Sunday, Leonardo DiCaprio finally won a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in ‘The Revenant’, but he also made an appearance in 'Room’ - the film for which Brie Larson earned the Best Actress prize.

A brief cameo from a young Leo was highlighted by A24, the studio that distributed Lenny Abrahamson’s magnificent book adaptation.

A screenshot from the movie was posted on Twitter, with A24 pointing out that this marks the first time the Best Actor and Actress winners have appeared in the same film together, in the same year, since 1998.

In 1998 Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt won the top prizes for their starring roles in classic romance 'As Good As It Gets’. In 'Room’ DiCaprio only appears in a poster in the untouched childhood bedroom of Larson’s abuse survivor.

Some may think that doesn’t technically count, but those people are pedants and best ignored.

DiCaprio’s win was the highlight on Sunday’s awards show, marking and overdue but deserved win that’s been 20-years in the making. Leo’s losing streak had become a running joke, but all the long-running memes must now be consigned to the annals of history.
