Letitia Wright wants to continue playing Shuri in Marvel movies
Letitia Wright wants to continue playing her character Shuri in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During a recent appearance on The View, the British actress was asked if she would be back as Shuri following her last appearance in 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Carefully wording her answer, she replied, "If it's, uh, let's just say, let's just say... I would like to continue with Shuri. She's one of my favourite characters, such a blessing, honestly, I kid you not. I'm so grateful for her."
Letitia, who was on the show to promote her film Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, was then asked specifically if there would be a third Black Panther movie.
She tilted her head, grinned and coyly teased, "There's a lot coming up."
Letitia made her debut as Shuri, the younger sister of T'Challa/Black Panther, in 2018's Black Panther and reprised the role in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
She had a substantially bigger role in Wakanda Forever, which was rewritten after the death of lead actor Chadwick Boseman. In the film, Shuri honours her late brother by picking up the Black Panther mantle.
No Black Panther films have been announced but Shuri could potentially make a surprise appearance in one of the upcoming films, which include Deadpool & Wolverine, Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars.
