Lindsay Lohan shares shocking secret on TV show finale

Lindsay Lohan has revealed she suffered a miscarriage during the filming of her controversial reality show.

During the final episode of Lindsay, which has been airing in the U.S. on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network, the actress shared her heartbreaking secret, explaining why she had to take a two-week hiatus from filming.

Breaking down in tears, the 27 year old confessed: "No one knows this - I had a miscarriage for those weeks that I took off.

"I couldn't move, I was sick. Mentally, that messes with you."

She refused to reveal any details about the father, simply saying that there was "a very long story" surrounding the traumatic event.

The series has hit the headlines for the all the wrong reasons, with Lindsay's tardy behaviour and outbursts prompting criticism from her fans, but the Mean Girls star insists she was struggling throughout the shoot.

She added: "Watching this series, I just know how I felt at that moment and I can relate to that girl, which sounds kind of crazy. But I'm like, 'Oh my god, this is really sad. Who's helping her?'"
