Line of Duty viewers reckon they spotted a pretty noticeable editing error in the latest episode.

Amid all the latest shocking twists and turns in the BBC drama, you'd be forgiven for missing the more subtle mistakes.

However, some viewers picked up on a scene between Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) and Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) that appeared to have poor dubbing.

Around halfway through the episode, the two characters discuss the deaths caused by Corbett (Stephen Graham).

"Look, the guy is responsible for killing five police officers," Hastings declares, though viewers noticed that he appeared to be mouthing "four" instead of "five".

Whoops.

Meanwhile, as the series draws towards its conclusion, a new character is joining the fold in the form of Anna Maxwell Martin's Detective Chief Superintendent Patricia Carmichael, who is sent in to help tackle all those bent coppers.

"I've been a fan of Line of Duty for years, so was dead chuffed to be part of series five," the actress said. "I'm so pleased I no longer have to keep it a secret!

"I feel honoured to follow in the footsteps of the host of great actors who make up the Line of Duty family, and Jed Mercurio – of course – has written a brilliant character in Carmichael. She's a woman on a mission."

Line of Duty continues on Sunday on BBC One.
