Line of Duty's Gregory Piper - who plays OCG member and corrupt police officer Ryan Pilkington - is reportedly being lined-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2021.

The 23-year-old actor appeared in the first series of Jed Mercurio's police procedural as vulnerable teenager groomed by the organised crime syndicate, who has since graduated as a police officer, stationed at Hillside Lane. He's wormed his way into the investigation of the murder of Gail Vella, an high-profile journalist who is believed to have uncovered police corruption within the OCG, and as a result was shot dead outside her home in Kingsgate.

It's being reported that Strictly bosses are keen to sign Gregory up for the upcoming series, as the young star is now "a household name because of his turn as evil Ryan", The Sun claims.

Prima has reached out to a Strictly representative at the BBC for comment.

Sunday night's gripping episode featured Ryan preparing to take out DCI Kate Fleming, when he turned up at the remote location bent copper DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) had lured Kate under false pretences. Kate was also armed, and the episode ended with Ryan and Kate aiming their guns at each in a dramatic stand-off, before two shots were heard and the screen faded to black.

It's not known whether Ryan killed Kate, if Kate killed Ryan, or Davidson was caught in the crossfire. We'll have to wait until Sunday (April 25th) to find out the fate of the three characters, and we're keeping everything crossed that Kate emerges unscathed.

Meanwhile, Strictly recently confirmed the line-up of professional dancers returning to the show, which include Oti Mabuse, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Anton Du Beke, Dianne Buswell, Giovanni Pernice, Gorka Marquez, Graziano Di Prima, Janette Manrara, Johannes Radebe, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, and Neil Jones.

The judges haven't been confirmed yet, but viewers are expecting to see Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel-Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli back on the panel. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are returning to host the show.

Fans will have to wait a little longer until the celebrity contestants are unveiled.
