'Livid' Piers Morgan says he's changing his name to Ant McMorgan after NTAs loss

Piers Morgan is absolutely ‘livid’ that Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly won Best Presenter at the National Television Awards last night.

The Good Morning presenter had previously claimed he’d quit the show if McPartlin won the award, having hardly appeared on television this year.

But Morgan was well and truly on hand again this morning to express his feelings, once again referring to McPartlin as a ‘dog walker‘.

The morning after. Still livid. #ntas

Speaking about the loss to Lorraine Kelly, who asked him if he needed a cuddle, Morgan replied: “I do need a cuddle, but then I always need a cuddle from you.”

“No, I’m furious. Livid. I’m enraged. I am everything you can see in that picture of me last night when we’d found out we’d lost,” he continued.

“I’m taking my dog for a walk and I haven’t even got a dog. I’m taking my dog for a walk for a year and hopefully that’ll tip me over the edge to presenter of the year.

Awkwardly chuckling, Kelly replied: “Probably, you never know. Congratulations to everyone who won. It was good fun, though, wasn’t it?”

To which Morgan replied: “It was good fun, but I’m changing my name to Ant McMorgan.”

“It was watching Ant McPartlin’s acceptance speech that really did it for me,” Morgan added, before mocking the presenter’s Geordie accent. “I mean, seriously? He hasn’t been on TV since February. What about us, the ones who put the work in? What about the ones at the coalface?”

Good Morning Britain also lost to its rival This Morning for Best Daytime Show at the NTAs, leaving Piers Morgan stone-faced as the rest of his crew laughed at him.

Morgan, who had promised to go vegan for a week if GMB won, was heavily mocked by viewers at home for his over-the-top-reaction, as well as being criticised for not clapping his ITV colleagues.
