Loose Women panellist Brenda Edwards first rose to fame when she came 4th on X-Factor back in 2005, she's released several albums, and made her mark on the West End in shows like Chicago and We Will Rock You. So her new job should come as no surprise.

Brenda is joining the Songs of Praise team as a host, with her first episode 'Faith in Action' airing on Sunday 17 January. Christian Brenda grew up very involved with her church and its gospel choir, and was in a 300 member choir before competing on the X-Factor, so we can't think of anyone better.

The excited songstress shared a sneak peak on her Instagram and she's taken to the new role like a duck to water.

The star wrote: "I am super excited to announce this news about joining the BBC Songs of Praise family, this is a snippet of my first show which will be aired on BBC1 this Sunday afternoon, I would love it if you could tune in thanks."

In the episode Brenda will join the Bonny Downs Baptists in East London, where she joins in with their "walking church" as they finish their Holy Communion in their community garden, and their walking football team to hear about the benefits of faith. We'll even get to hear her sing as she performs the hymn 'To God Be The Glory'.

Brenda said: "It’s an honour and a privilege to join the team at 'Songs of Praise' in their 60th year! Having grown up in the church and gospel choir, I know how important faith and music is for hope, healing and optimism – three things we all really need in the current climate. I can’t wait to get started and share this journey with 'Songs of Praise’s wonderful viewers!"

And don't worry Loose fans, this won't effect Brenda's Loose Women hosting, or her brilliant corridor singing backstage.

Good Luck Brenda!
