Wedding Day Winners, the quiz show hosted by Lorraine Kelly and comedian Rob Beckett, has been axed, according to reports.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Lorraine said: “It was a great show and I loved doing it. But it’s OK because I have got my hands full doing my breakfast show to be honest.

“I’m a lucky girl to get to do what I do.”

The show, which aired at primetime on Saturday evenings last year, found betrothed couples and their families competing to win ‘dream prizes and a chance to get married in front of the nation’.

However, it appear that it has now been quietly binned.

A source added: “Everything was done to make Wedding Day Winners a success but it just didn’t work. Light entertainment is a hard area to get right. There have been quite a few casualties in recent years.

“Lorraine is popular but her move to primetime didn’t prove to be the success everyone thought it would be.”

Yahoo has reached out for the BBC for comment.

At the time of its broadcast, viewers were, shall we say, not kind about the show.
