Louise Redknapp sons with ex husband Jamie Redknapp still hold out hope that their parents will reunite.

The former Eternal member split with Jamie in 2017 after 19 years of marriage which produced two boys, Charley, 16, and Beau, 11.

In an interview with GoodtoKnow, the 45-year-old shared that her eldest son had said he would support his mother if she were to start dating again, although she thinks he would rather see his parents back together.

She said: "My eldest is 15 and super-protective over me. But he knows he can talk to me about anything and doesn’t need to be embarrassed, I’m so open. One morning he said to me, 'If you ever did want to go on a date, I’d be OK with it.'

"It was actually a big moment as he’d always been quite vocal that I’d never go on a date. They [the boys] always hope their mum and dad will work things out."

Earlier this year, the singer described splitting with the former footballer as the "toughest thing" she had experienced in her life.

However, she also praised her ex-husband on his parenting skills, describing him as a "fabulous dad".

In January, Louise told Hello! she still loved Jamie. "After 21 years together how could I not still love him? He’s the father of my boys," she said.

"Jamie’s a great dad and is very proud that our sons love me so much. He has old-fashioned values and tells them to respect and love their mum."
