Here are our player ratings from the game...

Got to feel for him. Another three goals conceded but again none were his fault. Improving with his feet. Played some nice passes out from the back to start attacks. (Photo: Alex Livesey)

Frustrations were directed at him from the touchline after giving up possession a few times in the first-half. He went down injured just before the break but gritted his teeth until midway through the second-half to continue so fair play to him for that. He played a part in the second goal with a clipped ball into the box. (Photo: Tina Jenner)

Him and Grimes won’t have many tougher games this season up against Aldershot’s lively front two. Booked early on after bringing down Barham and that meant he could not put in a challenge for Aldershot’s second goal as Tolaj breezed past him too easily. Possibly lucky not to have given away a penalty as well. Played a part in the first goal, attacking the ball from Mandeville’s corner. (Photo: Tina Jenner)
Dragged out of position regularly by the impressive Barham, who constantly ran the channels and gave him a hard time in the first 45. But he made a couple of important blocks and was a threat in the opposition box. His late shot was heading in but was blatantly blocked by a hand, but thankfully Quigley was there to finish. He had the left side locked down quite nicely. He gave Town plenty of width and he played some smart passes into midfield. One of the better performers. Subbed off on 70. (Photo: Tina Jenner)

Many thought his inclusion in the side alongside Naylor would have given the defence more protection but it’s not really worked out like that so far. Perhaps a bit unlucky that his sliding defensive tackle appeared to squirm away from him which then led to Aldershot’s first scrambled goal. But he made slime good interceptions and started attacks well. (Photo: Tina Jenner)
Aldershot bypassed him and Jones in the first-half with long balls over the top. The hosts didn’t let him collect the ball from deep and pressed him back in the first-half. But he had more influence after the break, heading in the third goal from Mandeville’s corner. Did some strong work off the ball. (Photo: Tina Jenner)

A quiet start but he grew into the game, claiming an assist in each half from corners, taking his tally to six already. Put in some teasing crosses after the break, with only last-ditch touches stopping Chesterfield from applying the finish. Filled in at right-back/right wing-back when King went off. The most consistent performer. Took up some intelligent positions, kept possession well and had some lovely touches which helped to create chances. Coming into his own now. (Photo: Tina Jenner)

Chesterfield’s best player in the first-half, drawing two saves, and claiming the opener. Quieter in the second-half, but got himself in the box to help force the second goal. (Photo: Tina Jenner)

Didn’t have much service but worked hard and used his body well to ensure defenders were always under pressure. Calmly slotted in his third goal of the season to put Chesterfield 2-1 up. (Photo: Tina Jenner)
