Macaulay Culkin in Brighton paparazzi spat

Actor allegedly launched himself at photographer in late-night scuffle

Macaulay Culkin reportedly 'cursed and screamed' at a photographer as he left a Brighton nightclub last night.

The 32-year-old former child star became angry after attending a gig at The Haunt, and then allegedly attacked one of the paparazzi waiting outside at around 1.30am.

He was said to have been restrained by another man, but continued to launch himself at the photographer, who he was heard telling to 'go to hell'.

He then boarded a van and was driven away with his friend, musician and filmmaker Adam Green who he has joined on his tour of the UK.

So far, Culkin has been spotted at shows in London, Manchester and Bristol, where joined the band on stage to perform a Beach Boys cover.

He was in London last week, with a student called Marley Spindler telling Radar Online: “We chatted for about five minutes and he said he was in London seeing friends though he was vacant, speaking very quietly and mellow. He looked spaced out.

“I didn’t recognize him at first - I thought it was some homeless guy who was scrounging a smoke.”

Pictures of Culkin looking worryingly gaunt emerged last year, to the shock of many fans who remember him best from an impressive childhood career.

Macaulay began his acting life at the age of four, appearing in several small film roles throughout the 80s, and starring alongside John Candy in cult John Hughes comedy 'Uncle Buck', in 1989.The role for which he will forever be remembered though is Kevin McCallister in 1990's 'Home Alone'.

The now classic Christmas caper shot the 10-year-old star to international fame, only heightened after he appeared in Michael Jackson's iconic 'Black Or White' music video. Culkin became one of the most enduring faces of the early 90s. The movie spawned a sequel, 'Home Alone 2: Lost In New York' (not technically his home, right?), and Culkin then went on to star in a string of forgettable features: 'The Good Son', 'Getting Even With Dad', and 'The Pagemaster', before finishing up his childhood CV with 'Richie Rich' in 1994. Hardly the best of swansongs.

Macaulay then failed to surface until 2000, when he starred in a short West End run of 'Madame Melville'. He then appeared in a handful of overshadowed supporting roles and bad b-movies.

For eight years from 2002, Culkin dated Mila Kunis (people seem to forget that about her), and in 2004 the former child star was briefly jailed for possession of controlled substances. Macaulay has since faced repeated speculation about his health.

Now, Culkin's career seems to have again stalled, making his most recent appearance in 2011 low budget indie, 'The Wrong Ferrari', directed by Adam Green.
