After years of delays, aborted productions and rumoured reshoots, the first footage from ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ has finally been revealed… and it well was worth the wait.
Watch the debut Comic-Con footage in full above.
Starring Tom Hardy as Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson declined returning due to his age), alongside Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, this new vision of post-apocalyptic Australia is just as terrifying as it always has been.
George Miller, the mastermind behind the three previous films, is back behind the camera for the film which has been beset by production woes from the outset.
The film was officially greenlit back in 2003, but was cancelled in 2004 due to the outbreak of the Iraq war. A 3D animated version was later mooted then also dropped before ‘Fury Road’ finally began shooting with Tom Hardy back in July 2012.
Whatever problems the shoot may have faced seem to be a distant memory now as the footage, which debuted at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, became the most talked about highlights of the show.
