Mads Mikkelsen Waiting To Hear About Doctor Strange

It looks as though ‘Doctor Strange’ is yet to make an appointment with Mads Mikkelsen… as the Danish actor admits he still hasn’t heard from Marvel.

During an interview with MTime, the 49-year-old actor admitted that he still doesn’t know whether he’ll be starring opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming ‘Doctor Strange’.

“I know as much as the rest of the world,” he said. “So far it’s been rumors, so I’m waiting on a phone call.”

Of course, Mads Mikkelsen has been rumoured to be in contention for a part in ‘Doctor Strange’ since Variety revealed that he’d been linked to a villainous role just last month.

“Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to play one of the villains in Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ opposite Benedict Cumberbatch,” they revealed. “While sources say no offer has been delivered, one is expected shortly. Marvel had no comment on Mikkelsen’s involvement.”

Unfortunately, there’s been no news since this initial rumour… and which iconic Marvel villain he’s rumoured to be portraying remains a bit of a mystery.

Of course, Mikkelsen didn’t comment on which part he’s up for. However, he did admit that he’d love to join the project.

“[I’d be] over the moon,“ he revealed. “It would be fantastic to be a part of the Marvel family. I mean, it’s something we all grew up with. We all have our heroes, and Doctor Strange is definitely one of the more interesting things.”

Will Mads Mikkelsen nab a role and will he get to play a Marvel villain?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see… but Marvel would be mad not to nab him.

‘Doctor Strange’ heads to cinemas on 4 November 2016.
