Maisie Williams pays a bloody farewell to Game of Thrones

The cast of Game of Thrones have been making their final goodbyes to the show as filming wraps for the last time.

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, found a particularly fitting way to say farewell, as she took to Instagram to post a shot of her blood-stained sneakers - let's just hope that blood is fake.

The caption read: "goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones. what a joy i've had. here's to the adventures to come #lastwomanstanding #barely#immasleepforthenextfouryears #justkiddingidontsleep"

Though her comment about being the "last woman standing" seems like a major spoiler, it's unlikely Williams is talking about anything other than being the last woman amongst the cast to finish filming. There's no way she's gotten all the way to season 8 without being made keenly aware of the dangers of breaching her non-disclosure clause.

Emilia Clarke similarly paid her goodbyes by posting an image from a recent trip to Ireland, where the show is filmed, writing: "Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade."

"It’s been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I’d be able to live and the family I’ll never stop missing."

Game of Thrones season 8 is expected to air in early 2019.
