Man, 22, raped in middle of Glasgow after leaving nightclub

A 22-year-old man has been raped by another man in the middle of Glasgow after he left a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.

The unnamed victim was walking through a lane between Parnie Street and the Trongate in the city at around 3.40am on Sunday morning.

The suspect is believed to have sexually assaulted the man after he left a nearby club.

Police are now appealing for any information about the incident.

Detective Inspector David Reilly said: “The victim has been left extremely distressed by what happened and it is vital that we trace the individual responsible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the surrounding area in the early hours of this morning who may have seen anything suspicious to please get in touch.”

The suspect is described as black. No other details have been given.
