Man, 26, Charged With Terrorism Offence After Heathrow Airport Arrest

A man has been charged with a terrorism offence after being arrested at Heathrow Airport on Thursday. 

Mamun Rashid, 26, from East London has been charged with the preparation of terrorist acts after being investigated by the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command. 

He was arrested after arriving in the UK following an inbound flight from Turkey. 

Rashid is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
