Man of Steel hairstylist to sue over on-set injury

Cheryl Pickenback claims she sustained 'severe and permanent injuries' on Superman film

A hairstylist working on the new Superman film 'Man of Steel' is suing the film's producers after sustaining a 'severe injury' on set.

Cheryl Pickenback says that she was told to cross a set which had been made to look like rubble, described as 'a fractured and uneven walking surface', in order to attend to the hair of an actor.

She claims that she then fell, suffering 'severe and permanent injuries' and has had to seek 'extensive medical and surgical consultations and treatments'.

Pickenback says that the film's producers, Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures and Third Act Pictures failed to take sufficient safety precautions.

She has previously worked as a hair stylist on films including the 2010 remake of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' and 'Save the Last Dance'.

'Man of Steel' is due out on June 13.
