Man of Steel sequel in the pipeline?

Already?! Rumours suggest that the next film in the Superman series is being penned

A sequel to forthcoming Superman reboot 'Man of Steel' could be in the pipeline already, according to reports.

Rumours emanating from film blog Screen Rant suggest that Warner Bros is said to be moving forward with the next film, with David S. Goyer, the man who penned 'Man of Steel' and Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, continuing as writer.

Though it's early days to green-light a second film before the first has hit screens – it is due out in June – it would perhaps tally with news emerging from the first early screenings to family and friends and studio executives of Zack Snyder's film last week.

Early buzz on the secretive screening seemed to be extremely positive, implying that the subtlety of the early trailers conceal an action-packed blockbuster.

One source revealing details to film site JoBlo suggested it was already the film of the year.

Whatever, it's certainly among the most anticipated.

Starring Brit actor Henry Cavill as Superman, it also features Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Lawrence Fishburne and Michael Shannon as General Zod.

It's due out on June 14.
