Oxford is preparing to celebrate the King’s Coronation with almost 30 street parties across the city.
The Coronation will take place on Saturday, May 6 with celebrations continuing over the course of the bank holiday weekend.
Oxford City Council received almost 30 temporary road closure licence applications to allow street parties to take place before the deadline to apply passed.
The Lord Mayor of Oxford, councillor James Fry, said: “This should be a wonderful long weekend with street parties and other celebrations across the city to mark the Coronation.
“The street parties offer our city’s diverse communities an opportunity to celebrate.
“I hope that neighbours will enjoy this chance to come together and mark this once in a generation occasion.”
There will also be a range of national events taking place which include the Coronation Big Lunch, the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle and the Big Help Out.
