Mark Hamill Has A Huge Star Wars 7 Secret

Where is Luke Skywalker?

It’s the big ‘Star Wars 7′ question that everyone wants to know… and Mark Hamill seems to be hiding the answer.

During an interview with Games Radar, ‘The Force Awakens’ star revealed that he’s currently keeping a huge ‘Star Wars’ secret.

“I have something coming out where there’s an amount of money that if it leaks because of me, I don’t get that payment,” he said. “If I keep it a secret until the day it comes out, I get that payment. But I’m good at keeping secrets.”

In fact, he claims he can’t even confirm whether he’s in the movie at all.

“I’m not even authorised to tell you I’m in Episode VII,” he said. “It’s all secret.”

It’s likely that Hamill is merely exaggerating to make a point… after all, his name was featured prominently in the original casting announcement. But the big secret might explain Luke’s absence from the ‘Star Wars 7′ trailers.

“It’s crazy – this NDA stuff people don’t know, non-disclosure agreement, where you’re not allowed to talk about anything…”

But Hamill has a rather good track record for keeping ‘Star Wars’ secrets.

Back in 1980, before the premiere of ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, the world had no idea that Darth Vader would turn out to be Luke Skywalker’s father… and Mark Hamill kept that huge secret until the film was officially released.

“I’m proud of the fact that I knew, a year-and-a-half before anybody else, that he was actually Dad Vader,” Hamill explained. “I didn’t tell Harrison [Ford] or my wife… because I thought it would be terrible if she said ‘you know what…’ to a fan and it got out.”

“Now it’s happening all over again,” he added.

We all know that Luke Skywalker will return in ‘Star Wars 7’… but what that means is another matter entirely. Will he be the same Jedi we first saw over thirty-years ago?

And what secret is Mark Hamill keeping?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ heads to cinemas on 17 December 2015.
