Mark Wahlberg has given a hilarious swear-riddled speech at the MTV Movie Awards, after winning the esteemed Generation Trophy.

“I know what this really means,” Wahlberg quipped after picking up the ceremony’s highest honour. “Many people have gotten this award before… Jim Carrey, Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston… This is the you're-too-f**king-old-to-come-back award!"

“This isn't the Channing Tatum-you’re-dancing-around-chicks-want-you award,” he added. “This is the you're-f**king-done award. But you know what, it's been a great run.”

The 42-year-old ‘Lone Survivor’ star then recalled how he started out – briefly mentioning his troubled youth and previous criminal convictions, success with hip-hop group Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch, and even his time as a model for Calvin Klein – saying he went from “literally being incarcerated to having a one-hit rap career to having an underwear model career.”

“It was a great run and I'm a lucky guy in so many ways,” he sumarised,

Of course, the audience erupted with applause, causing Wahlberg to reply: Hey, shut the f**k up! I'm about to cry in a minute!”

“S**t, I ain't f**king around. I've got to do ‘Ted 2’," he joked.

The presentation itself was a bit of an ‘Entourage’ reunion, with Walhberg (the TV show’s executive producer) collecting the award from series stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly and Jerry Ferrara.

Wahlberg even teased the upcoming ‘Entourage’ spin-off film as the best movie of next year. “I guarantee it”, he said.

Other previous winners of the Generation Award – presented to actors who have “engaged the MTV audience throughout his or her career” – include Tom Cruise, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, Jamie Foxx and Johnny Depp.
