Martian Manhunter To Appear In Justice League Movie?

J’onn J’onzz rumoured to feature in DC’s big screen plans

It looks as though the Martian Manhunter could be heading to the big screen in the upcoming 'Justice League' movie… despite a bit of a bashing from David S. Goyer.

He's not exactly the most instantly recognisable superhero… but DC's Martian Manhunter has been a member of the Justice League since its inception. Living incognito as a detective, he's one of the more troublesome superheroes when it comes to the big screen. But despite recent comments from David S. Goyer, it looks as though he could be coming to the big screen after all.

According to Jeff Sneider from The Wrap, everyone's favourite Martian may have already landed a part in the upcoming 'Justice League' movie. And there's even word on the villain of the piece…

Of course, the decision to introduce Darkseid into the DC cinematic universe is no big surprise. After all, he's one of the most powerful villains in the DC comic books and makes the assembling of the Justice League seem much more crucial.

But he's not the only villain that could fill this role… Still, it looks as though Darkseid's appearance is a done deal.

And what about the Martian Manhunter?

This startling news comes just weeks after 'Justice League' writer David S. Goyer went off on an enormous rant about poor J'onn J'onzz. And he wasn't exactly kind…

[Batman V Superman: First look at LexCorp]

"He can't be f***ing called the Martian Manhunter because that's goofy," he said. "He can be called Manhunter… The whole deal with Martian Manhunter is he's an alien living amongst us… So he comes down to Earth and decides, unlike Superman who already exists in the world now, that he's just going to be a homicide detective…"

Of course, given the first half an hour or so of 'Man of Steel' I can't quite see what Goyer's problem is with extra-terrestrial characters. Still, it looks as though the Manhunter himself will be starring in the 'Justice League' regardless.

But how will Goyer and Snyder handle this 'goofy' DC character? For now, we'll have to wait and see.
