Marvel Cinematic Universe Quicksilver star Aaron Taylor Johnson has spoken on the possibility of his character returning – and its not looking good, folks.

Johnson's character – aka Pietro Maximoff – was killed off in Avengers: Age of Ultron, though new comeback possibilities have arisen for now-dead MCU characters thanks to Disney+.

After all, Loki is getting his own TV show, plus Pietro's sister Wanda is getting her own series with WandaVision, heightening the chance that he could make some sort of appearance.

However, when speaking about the likelihood of Quicksilver appearing on Disney+ in some form, Johnson didn't raise many hopes.

"I think we're both open to possibilities, like the Marvel Universe like it has been over the years, but obviously yes, I'm aware of the Disney+ platform and all of the shows that are going and I'm still in touch with a lot of the people," he told ScreenRant.

"I mean, I think it's safe to say that no, I'm not gonna... there will be no appearance of me coming out or Quicksilver appearing anytime soon."

WandaVision star Elisabeth Olsen recently spoke about the new series, teasing that fans of the comics will be in for a treat.

"The longer I'm a part of the Marvel family – because it's about five years now – the more I really get it," she said.

"And especially with WandaVision, I'm just so excited for fans, because if they know anything about the Scarlet Witch in the comics I think this show will get them so excited.

"This show will explore why she is known as Scarlet Witch and how she's Scarlet Witch as opposed to Wanda – we've always referred to her as Wanda in our films. So it's an exciting opportunity."
