The Masked Singer UK season 2 is on its way to our screens – and probably even sooner than you thought.

Following the big costume tease last month, ITV has confirmed when the bizarrely brilliant costumed celebrity singing competition will be back, revealing the premiere date as December 26 at 7pm.

The news was announced today (December 2) when the network unveiled a brand new trailer teasing what's to come.

The sneak peek gives us a look at the new costumes in all their glory, including a sausage, a bush baby and a grandfather clock.

It teased 12 new celebrities coming into the fold, while it seemed to only just dawn on new judge Mo Gilligan exactly what he'd signed up for as he sat in the studio.

"This show is mad, you know?" he said. The former The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan host joined the show this year, taking over from former judge Ken Jeong.

"Welcome to The Masked Singer, Mo," host Joel Dommett quipped back.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy in October, Joel said Mo is "so good, brilliant. It was nice to have someone new in the mix. He threw out a lot of hilarious names, as did everyone."

He added that the "panel is brilliant this year. We're so lucky, everyone gets along – there are no crazy divas".

The Masked Singer UK season 2 will premiere on December 26 at 7pm on ITV.
