Matt Damon will appear in Ocean’s Eight

Matt Damon is back in the upcoming ‘Ocean’s Eight’.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the former ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star revealed that he’s returning for a role in ‘Ocean’s Eight’… but don’t expect him to get a huge role.

“I’m doing a little bit in the movie,“ he revealed, explaining that it’s more of a cameo. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”

Matt Damon first starred as Linus Caldwell in ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ - the 2001 remake of the Rat Pack classic, ‘Ocean’s 11’. Of course, he also returned in the subsequent sequels - ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ in 2004 and ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ in 2007.

And now, he’ll be back in the female-led spin-off.

‘Ocean’s Eight’ will star Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Dakota Fanning, and Damian Lewis… with Matt Damon now confirmed for a cameo.

Damon had nothing but praise for ‘Ocean’s Eight’ when he spoke with ET Canada, claiming that the rather awesome female cast is “going to kick ass.”

But will any of the other ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ cast pop up in the movie?

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia and Don Cheadle wold all be popular choices to make an appearance in the upcoming movie… and with Clooney’s character, Danny Ocean, lending his name to the franchise, it might make some sense to see the original conman return.

But for now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Ocean’s Eight’ heads to cinemas on 8 June 2018.
